The drawings reproduced in this publication originate from a broader body of India ink works produced between 2010 and 2020, examining American mythology, political spectacle, mass media imagery, cultural symbolism, and the contradictions embedded within contemporary visual culture. Although widely recognized as a founder of the contemporary streetwear industry, drawing has remained a constant and independent component of his artistic practice.

The works presented here reflect recurring themes throughout Brunetti's broader oeuvre, including cultural memory, American exceptionalism, popular imagery, and the construction of contemporary identity through systems of representation and mass reproduction.

Originally published by Innen in 2021, Practice Wishful Thinking offers a focused view into a studio practice that has developed alongside Brunetti's publishing, design, and artistic work for more than thirty years.
